Double Your Creator ROI 💰
This free template will help you make sure your creator network is profitable
Hey builders,
I have a lot of conversations with people who are scaling organically but aren’t sure on the ROI they’re getting
So today, I want to share some insights on creator tracking
Basically because it’s a huge part of what has made Clippit profitable from the start
This may sound boring but trust me, if you’re already working with creators, understanding CPM & RPM and a sure way to double your ROI from your creator network
Let’s dive into it!

Creator tracking - doubling your ROI from your creator network
CPM & RPM - a seriously under spoken about topic in organic app growth
Clippit's had 36k downloads in 4 months. $0 spent on ads
I see a lot of founders bleeding cash on creators because there is no tracking and an understanding of who in your creator network is generating an ROI
We have turned our +2M monthly views into profit because we track
Don't underestimate tracking — it means the creator $ we spend makes us money
The below are the steps building a tracking system to ENSURE PROFIT
Also, I’ve build a simple excel which you can use to track and do all the actions we talk about below:

CPM & RPM Tracker
The real truth: tracking organic marketing is HARD
Unlike ads with clear spend-to-return metrics, organic doesn't show you where conversions come from
That's why we religiously track every creator partnership at Clippit
1. With influencer marketing, what do you need to track?
CPM - cost per 1000 views (CPM = (Total Cost / Total Views) × 1000)
RPM - revenue per 1000 views (RPM = (Total Revenue / Total Views) × 1000)
The only goal that matters: RPM > CPM
The wider this gap, the higher your profit margin
2. Calculate your CPM
Don't guess - measure monthly with real data:
For the CPM, you want to break this down per creator
→ their monthly views
→ their cost
→ calculate CPM for each creator
Now calculate overall CPM across all creators
Also remember: views ≠ downloads
For deeper insights, track engagement ratio:
Engagement = views / (likes + comments + saves + bookmarks)
Pro tip: weight comments and saves higher as they indicate stronger intent

3. Calculate your RPM
This is your money metric:
Total monthly revenue ÷ Total monthly views × 1000 track this weekly to spot trends early
4. The profitability checklist
Key ratio: RPM ÷ CPM
Above 1.0: you're profitable
Below 1.0: you're losing money on every view
Break-even analysis: with a $4 RPM, your CPM must stay under $4 to profit
For example: $1000/month creator (30 videos) = 8.3K views per video needed to break even
$300/month creator (30 videos) = 2.5K views per video needed to break even
This lets you ask the right questions:
> Can this creator consistently deliver the number of views you need per video?
> Is their price justified by their performance?
> Would a one-off fee to a larger creator be more efficient?
> What's the right balance between building new creator accounts vs. leveraging existing ones?
5. Your action plan for tomorrow
1. Calculate your current RPM (you might be shocked)
2. Audit every creator's CPM (I guarantee some are costing you money)
3. Cut the bottom 20% immediately
4. Double down on your top performers
This exact system is how we've built a creator network generating 2M+ monthly views while maintaining profitability across our creator network
The founders who master this system are the ones who scale without burning cash
Tools you could use
If you’re not boot strapping and you’ve got some cash to spend to make tracking the views a bit easier, below are some I’m aware off
To my knowledge, they don’t calculate the CPM & RPM (yet) but will allow you to automate tracking views and engagement of your creator network
I hope you found this useful!
